Winter Storm Update
February 2, 2011

Chicago -

While extreme cold continues to impact Chicago, Northwestern Memorial Hospital will continue operations as normal, including outpatient appointments and elective procedures. All patients are encouraged to call to confirm their appointment prior to traveling to the hospital’s campus. To confirm appointments, please call 312-926-2000. Patients of Northwestern Memorial Physicians Group (NMPG) should call 312-926-DOCS(3627) to confirm previously scheduled appointments.

As a key community resource, Northwestern Memorial Hospital is prepared to handle emergency situations. We provide care to our patients 24/7 and today’s severe weather is no exception. We are adequately staffed to provide the highest level of care and service during the extreme cold.

We will continue to provide updates about our monitoring of the situation. Please know that heavy snow and cold weather can pose serious health risks, especially with prolonged exposure. Children and the elderly are at highest risk during winter storms. For information related to winter weather safety, please view the following:

We will continue to provide updates as necessary. Please check our website at www.nmh.org or call 312-926-2000 for general information and assistance.
