Got Healthy Knees?

Strength, Laxity, & Position Sense in Knee Osteoarthritis Progression

This study currently underway at Northwestern University involves only one visit. At the study an MRI scan of the knee joint will be conducted before and after completing two knee activities. The activities are:

  • Knee bends
  • Fixed position exercise - you will be seated in a secure chair and asked to push with both legs against a bathroom scale

INCLUSION

  • Females age 65 or older with no knee problems
  • No history of knee surgery
  • Able to have an MRI

EXCLUSION

  • If you have pain, arthritis, or swelling in either knee
  • History of knee surgery
  • Unable to have an MRI

This patient study requires only one visit. The study evaluation is free of charge and you will be paid for your time.
