Patient Care

Northwestern Memorial plans to continue investing in areas of long-standing specialized treatment and care, including cancer, cardiovascular disease, neurosciences, orthopaedics and transplantation. Contributing to the quality of care are the physicians, nurses and medical technicians who embody the hospital's commitment to the "best patient experience."

Cancer
More than 110 physicians at Northwestern Memorial now provide comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for all types of cancer and benign hematogical disorders. (more)

Cardiovascular Disease
One of the most promising initiatives at the hospital is a new cardiovascular institute, launched in April 2004 with a distinguished team of renowned heart specialists. (more)

Neurosciences
One of Northwestern Memorial's distinguishing strengths is its ability to treat a full range of neurological disorders, including stroke, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, or Lou Gehrig's disease) and sleep disorders. (more)

Transplantation
In recent years, Northwestern Memorial has emerged as a regional and national leader in transplantation. Surgeons at our Kovler Transplantation Center now perform more than 500 transplants each year, including kidney, pancreas and liver transplants. (more)
