Northwestern Memorial's orthopaedics program is nationally recognized for diagnostics and treatment to complete surgical intervention and rehabilitation. Our orthopaedics surgeons specialize in total joint replacements, sports medicine and the treatment of spinal deformity and trauma. We are the only Chicago-area hospital (and one of the few nationally) offering computer-assisted orthopaedics surgery. As leaders in the field of joint repair and replacement, our surgeons are investigating materials such as ceramics, metals and polyethylenes to improve outcomes and the longevity of joint replacements. To assist patients and their families in making lifestyle adjustments and enhancing their treatment outcomes, Northwestern Memorial has teamed with the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago in offering comprehensive rehabilitation, nursing, psychiatry and both occupational and physical therapy. The program, one of the largest in the country, treats 500 patients annually.
