Thank you for you interest in supporting Northwestern Memorial Hospital. At the heart of Northwestern Memorial's reputation for excellence are donors who provide gifts and grants for clinical programs, research, education and community services. These vital elements of the hospital's not-for-profit mission have never been more important than they are today. At Northwestern Memorial, donors have an opportunity to invest in an institution with a proven record of success, in a future that is promising and secure and in an institution that has the clinical, scientific and financial strength to make far-reaching contributions to the community. Donate online to support Northwestern Memorial Hospital and its programs.
The Tribute Program - Gifts that Honor, Remember or Celebrate
A gift to Northwestern Memorial Hospital can be a fitting tribute that helps the hospital provide quality health care to the community. A contribution may also be made in honor of a loved one as a birthday, anniversary, holiday or special occasion gift. When we receive a tribute gift, we immediately thank the donor and will also inform the individual honored or any person the donor wishes to notify.
Below is a list of several ways you can give to Northwestern Memorial. We encourage you to seek advice from your personal legal/tax counsel in determining your individual charitable tax deductions.
Gifts of Cash
The simplest way of supporting Northwestern Memorial is by making an outright gift of cash:
Gifts of Securities
Gifts of appreciated securities such as stocks and bonds offer substantial tax advantages, such as forgiveness of the tax on capital gain and an income tax charitable deduction for the fair market value of the securities

Many individuals wish to make a major investment in the future of the hospital. Perhaps they received superb care and wish to support the hospital's patient care programs. Or, they may wish to fund clinical research to help the hospital find better treatment options. Regardless of their motivation, philanthropy makes a lasting impact on the hospital's mission. Planned Gifts
By remembering Northwestern Memorial Foundation in your estate plans, you can leave a meaningful mark on the hospital's work that spans beyond your years. In fact, many donors find that through bequests, they are able to make a significant philanthropic commitment more comfortably than doing so during their lifetimes. There are also many types of planned and life-income gifts that can offer benefits to donors and their families in addition to the charitable support provided to the hospital.
