Pharmacy Post Graduate Year 1 Program - Requirements

Licensing
You must become a Registered Pharmacist in Illinois and hold an Illinois Technician License.

  • Contact the Illinois Department of Registration and Education to request a Licensee Application Form
  • NMH residents must provide a copy of completed form and a copy of money order receipt by July 1st
  • Exams must by scheduled before July 31st
  • If you do not have an Illinois Technician License, proof of license application must be provided before July 1st

Activities
Participation in teaching, journal club presentations, newsletters and P&T reviews, seminars and a research project is required. Residents are encouraged to participate in formal and informal teaching of pharmacy clerkship and pre-clerkship students.

Staffing
Staffing is an integral component to your experience as a resident. Residents begin staffing every third weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening) after completion of the pharmacy practice rotation. Residents are permitted to take the following Monday off if it is cleared with their preceptor.
