Radiation
Radiation treatment uses high dose X-rays to destroy cancer cells. Giving small doses of radiation enables the majority of healthy cells to repair any damage while destroying cancer cells. Common side effects from radiation include:
- Fatigue
- Sunburn like reaction
- Tenderness
- Swelling
Radiation treatment is often recommended for patients who have breast conservation surgery or several positive lymph nodes.
