The New Prentice Women's Hospital is Now Open!
The new Prentice Women's Hospital opened on October 20, 2007 when it moved from its original facility to a new one million square foot state-of-the-art hospital dedicated to providing care for the unique needs of women through all stages of life. The hospital was thoughtfully conceived to provide patients with comfort and convenience, the latest in healthcare technology and support of the best professionals in healthcare. Features of the new facility include:
- All private rooms with Internet access and daybeds for visitors
- Restaurants and room service
- A dedicated women's health center
- Inpatient and outpatient diagnostic services
- The capacity for up to 13,600 births per year
- One of the largest neonatal intensive care units in the country

Construction of the new Prentice Women's Hospital is funded in part by a $5.6 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This represents approximately 1.2 percent of the estimated $450 million construction cost. The remaining costs are funded through nongovernmental sources.
