About Heart Rhythms
Diagnosing Arrhythmias
A cardiologist or
electrophysiologist (a heart rhythm specialist) may order tests to help
diagnose an arrhythmia. These tests may include:
- Electrocardiogram (ECG): the heart's electrical signals or impulses can be measured and recorded with an electrocardiogram (ECG). An ECG is used to evaluate the heart's rhythm, the conduction system of the heart, and look for areas of damage and infarction as well as areas of increased muscle mass.
