Emergency Medicine

Northwestern Memorial's Department of Emergency Medicine is the only Chicago-based academic medical center to serve in the city and state as a Level I trauma system.

Treating more than 68,000 patients per year, on-site services include a CAT scanner, 24-hour laboratory and three radiology rooms to deliver fast and efficient emergency care. A separate area in the emergency department provides rapid treatment for patients with minor injuries or illness during the day and evening.
