An inpatient dialysis unit is dedicated to treating patients with acute renal failure or chronic patients admitted to the hospital for various reasons. A large outpatient dialysis program that includes a home dialysis program, owned and operated by the University division of the Renal Care Group, is available.
Some renal attending physicians work closely with the Organ Transplantation Surgery attending staff to evaluate patients for kidney and pancreas transplantation.
